Online Tournaments FAQ's
What is a “Re-Buy Option?
Some online tournaments offer a Re-Buy Option. A Re-Buy Option basically gives you another chance in an online tournament. When you have lost all your casino credits or playing time, you will be able purchase a Re-Buy to give it another shot and start all over again. When an online tournament has a Re-Buy or Continue feature, it will be clearly visible at the bottom of the Tournament Results Screen.
A great benefit of the Re-Buy Feature is that it has a memory facility which stores your highest score to be displayed on the Tournament Results. For example, if you achieve a score of 2000 during your first attempt, and 1000 during your second attempt, the highest score of 2000 will reflect on your tournament results.
What is the “Continue” Feature?
The Continue Feature in the online tournament enables you to buy additional time and/or more coins to enhance your chances to win. The number of coins or the period of time is usually less than what you would receive with the Re-Buy Option. And unlike the Re-Buy Feature, you do not start from scratch when you purchase a “Continue” Feature. Whatever you gain through the “Continue” Feature, will just be added onto your existing score.
How do I collect my winnings?
Your winnings will automatically be credited to your casino account. You will notice it on your account balance, as soon as the online tournament is completed and your name has appeared on the final scoreboard.
How am I notified of when I win?
As soon as you have completed your tournament play, a “Game Complete” message will appear on your computer screen. This will indicate your position in the online tournament, which is subject to change until the tournament is completely over. The moment the online tournament is complete, the final results will be displayed on your screen, in the Players Window.
What are “rounds” in the online tournament?
In some online tournaments you will have to triumph in more than one “round” to qualify for the prizes. The winners of the first round will go through to a second round where they have to achieve again to get to the top of the Leader Board. The details of the number of rounds and players for each online tournament, will reflect in the Tournament Rules Box.
What happens if I win Free Spins or Bonus Rounds during the online tournament?
All your winnings, including what you win during Free Spin Rounds and Bonus Rounds, are added to your Win Box. Should your Play Time be over before you have completed all your Free Spins though, you will not get extended time. But should you opt to proceed with another cycle; those Free Spins will be transferred to the next cycle.
Is there an “Auto Mode” feature for when I am unable to play?
The online blackjack tournaments do have a “Sit Out” feature for when you are not able to play. The online slot tournaments however, do not have an “Auto Spin” feature. So should you have registered for an online slot tournament, but not be able to play, your score will remain zero.
How does the “Sit Out” Function work in Blackjack?
Should you not make a bet within the required time frame, which is 15 seconds, the “Sit Out” Function will automatically be activated. You could also activate it manually by clicking on “Sit Out” which appears at the bottom right hand side of your screen. The “Sit Out” Function will automatically play your cards out for you by betting the minimum bet and standing on 11.
What happens if I am unexpectedly disconnected during an online tournament?
The following rules will apply when you are unexpectedly disconnected from the system: Should you get disconnected during play, the slot will not automatically spin on your behalf
* Should you manage to reconnect during the tournament time, you will be able to continue playing in the online tournament
* Should you not be able to reconnect, your Win Box will remain static, reflecting the amount at the time of disconnection.
What happens if I registered for an online tournament but then forgot to play it?
When you are logged into Volcanic Gold Online Casino, the casino software will conveniently send you a reminder when the online tournament that you have registered for, is about to start.
However, in the event that you have forgotten about the tournament, you will have a chance to enter the tournament while it is still in progress. But should the tournament be completed, you will obviously not have been able to play it and your entry fee or Buy-In will not be refunded.
What is a feeder tournament?
When playing a feeder tournament, you will mostly play for an entry or a seat into another (usually more expensive) tournament, instead of cash prizes. This means that you will be able to enter the relevant tournament for free, without having to pay the Buy-In or entry fee.
What happens when I win a feeder tournament?
Upon winning a feeder tournament, the casino software will automatically register you for the tournament that you have won an entry to. You will be able to view the details of this tournament by clicking on the “My Tournaments” icon within the casino software. You will not be able to exchange your entry into the relevant online tournament for an alternative prize.
Do all the online tournaments reward you with cash prizes?
No. The prizes that are up for grabs could vary from tournament to tournament. Some could offer cash prizes, whilst others could have special prizes ranging from holiday trips to cars. So be sure to check what you will be playing for, before you enter any online tournament. Feeder tournaments also do not offer cash prizes, but entries into other tournaments.
May I play the same online tournament more than once?
Online tournaments offer a “Re-Buy” Feature which enables you to pay the entry fee again and start from scratch. In such instances, your single highest score will count towards the final results. (You can therefore only win a prize once during the same tournament).
Why is it necessary for me to have an online alias and how do I obtain one?
Volcanic Gold Online Casino has the strictest policy to protect the privacy of its players. For this reason, you will be requested to rather create a nickname or alias, so that your real name or account number is not published on the scoreboards.
You will be prompted to create an alias the moment that you click on “Join” and register for your first online tournament. This will remain your alias for future purposes, from there on forward. When selecting an alias, you have to bear the following in mind:

* You will not be allowed to choose an alias that is offensive in any way. Should you do so, the alias will simply be rejected and you will be prompted to choose something else;
* Your alias cannot be changed.
